Denver Maternity Photographer — Melanie

Denver maternity photographer

Pregnancy is such a magical time. And as a Denver maternity photographer and mom of four, we totally understand that it doesn’t always feel magical. Still, it’s nothing short of a miracle! So we are always honored when we have to opportunity to shoot a maternity session and capture these moments in time.

Winter Beauty

We wanted to share some images from this beautiful session with Melanie and her husband, and talk about all the things we love about it! Melanie didn’t shy away from the winter landscape. Instead, they leaned into it with neutral colors to complement the natural background and Melanie’s cozy cardigan.

Melanie’s dress was perfect for highlighting her baby bump and making her feel confident and beautiful. With the soft light and her flowing dress, we think she looks like a goddess! Melanie, thank you so much for letting us capture your maternity photos! We can’t wait for you to meet your little one!

Denver Maternity Photographer Tips

If you’re thinking about an upcoming maternity photoshoot and are feeling a bit lost, no fear. We have a few tips to share with you!

  1. Shoot during month 7 or 8 (around week 30). When shooting maternity photos, you want to find the sweet spot where you definitely look pregnant but you aren’t feeling swollen or too big. We want the images to capture you at the height of your glowing beauty. For some women, their discomfort increases towards the end of the third trimester and they don’t necessarily feel like doing a photoshoot or feel like they look their best. Do it too early, and it can be hard to spot that baby bump like you want to!
  2. Dress like you would for any other photoshoot. Just like you would consider complementary colors for any other photoshoot, think about how you and your partner can dress similarly, but not too matchy-matchy. Pick clothes that make you feel confident. For some pregnant women, this can be tricky. We promise you look amazing just as you are, but heading to the store or to Amazon to pick out a special outfit for your photoshoot can give you that extra boost of confidence you need.
  3. Have fun! Not everyone feels like a natural in front of the camera. But, just do your best to relax and have fun. With my years of experience, I’ll be able to pose you in flattering, fun, and romantic ways—whatever aesthetic you’re going for. So just trust me, take some deep breaths, and we will have a great time!
